Ha Noi (VNA) - The 11th National Assembly will open its 10th session in Ha Noi on Oct. 17, announced the National Assembly Office, adding the session will last for one month.
At a press briefing in Ha Noi on Oct. 13, Chairman of the National Assembly Office, Bui Ngoc Thanh, stressed that this NA session will take place at the final stage of the country's negotiations process for WTO membership, so that the law building work will focus on perfecting the legal system for the integration process.
As this year is also the first year of the current five-year plan (2006-2010), the National Assembly will focus on the quality of the economic growth while reviewing the implementation of the socio-economic tasks. The session will be interrupted from Nov. 12-19 due to the organisation of the APEC Week 2006.
As usual, the session will focus on three main contents, namely the implementation of socio-economic tasks, law making and implementation of the NA's supervision task.
On law making, the NA plans to pass 11 draft laws, resolution on law building and ordinances; and give opinions to six other draft laws.
On the supervision work, the NA will hear a number of reports on the implementation of national projects and programmes and also spend three days on question-and-answer meeting.-
